On Essex Mums this month
Just a quick hello from me this month. It seems that everyone is rather busy at the moment with end of term, upcoming holidays etc and here at Essex Mums things are pretty crazy too! I know the School Holidays are at the forefront of everyone's minds, so this newsletter will focus on them and on keeping the kids amused for that long summer break.
Presents for Teachers
Looking for a little something to show your gratitude to your child's teacher? Why not look for something a bit different in the Alternative Shopping Guide? You could browse the lovely shops in the Gifts for Adults section, or look at some of the wonderful products in the Product Guide, where you can search by price, category or specific tags. You're sure to find something, whether it's a cheap and cheerful pocket money gift, or something a little more extravagant.
What's on this Summer
There is so much going on this summer, you could easily find something to keep the kids amused every day regardless of age, sex and location! Whether it's an organised summer camp or a free afternoon in the woods, you can find everything you could possibly want to know about the Summer Holidays in Essex here! To make your searching easier, I've split everything up into areas of the county, so click below to find out what's on near you:
You might also like to browse the map to find out what what's near you, or the Places to Go section for a more in-depth look at attractions across the county (though this is very much a work in progress!)
Keep an eye on the Meet-Ups section for some summer get-togethers, or feel free to start your own thread if you want to suggest something near you. With so many people looking for something to do I'm sure there will be some great events going on over the summer, whether it's chatting in the garden, a picnic in the park or something a little more adventurous! If the kids are driving you mad at any point (I'm sure the little darlings never would, but just in case!) you might also find it useful to blow off some steam once in a while on one of the daily threads, which you can find in the 'A Bit of a Chat' section.
Class times for September
If you run classes and groups, make sure you post any updated times in the What to Do section of the forum so that they can be added to the Things to Do calendars, or send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I'm also happy to offer 25% off any advertising for classes, groups, events etc. happening over the summer or from September.
New on the Shopping Guide
The Shopping Guide features both a shop listing and a product listing to help you find that perfect gift, whether it's for someone else, or for yourself! The guide features lots of lovely products that are a bit different to what you'll find on the High Street, and new products are being added all the time. Take a look! If you are interested in being featured, please let me know.
