On Essex Mums this month
This month saw us reaching 3000 members on the forum - hooray! As Essex Mums has brought so many of us together and created some lovely friendships both amongst Mums and kids, I thought I would use this newsletter to focus on the ways you can make friends on the site, whether you're just looking to chat, or for friends to meet up with, a nice little group of Mums local to you, or just one great friend.
Chatting on the forum
We may have a lot of members, but we could always do with more chat! The forum is so friendly, I know it can seem a bit like everyone knows each other at first and may be slightly intimidating, but the majority of us met through the site and we really do always welcome some new faces. You can come and introduce yourself and receive a warm welcome or just come and have a natter in one of the daily threads. Most of the time we're just talking about every day stuff but it's a really a lovely way of getting to know the other members of the forum as we share so much about our days.
A few people have had problems logging into the forum and are getting a message to say their details are wrong. If you are one of them, please let me know and we can reset your password so that you can gain access again!
The Meet-Ups 2012 thread is currently looking a little bare, but hopefully now we're getting into the swing of things this year, we can start to fill it up with lots of great get-togethers! If you'd like to start something in your area, please feel free to post it in the Meet-Up section and if you'd like me to list it on the facebook group too, just let me know! It would be lovely to get some more regular meet-ups, be they at coffee mornings, playcentres or something completely different across the county so that everyone can attend something if they want to. I know at the moment a few people feel the meet-ups are somewhat limited in the areas they're in - the solution is for you to start something!
Facebook & Twitter
Speaking of Facebook, if you're on there (who isn't?!) then do come and join the Essex Mums Group and Page for updates on the site. Likewise, if you're on Twitter, come and follow Essex Mums!
I know I say this every month but I really do value any feedback I can get on the site and would love to know what you love, loathe and would like to see on Essex Mums. If there's something that doesn't quite work properly for you, something you think would be fantastic to see - anything, please do send it over. If you'd prefer to remain anonymous, just fill in the feedback form and put 'Anon' in the email box, it will still reach me.
Ads for February
I have a few ad spots remaining for February - get in touch if there's something you're interested in and quote 'NEWSLETTER' for a 10% discount!
Things to win! Check out the great competitions we currently have running. If you would like to run a competition yourself please let me know - it's a great way to advertise for free and also give something lovely to parents in Essex!
