Another month has whizzed by; is it just me or does anyone else feel like their children are getting too big, too fast? At least the weather seems to be cheering up and we can get out and enjoy some of what Essex has to offer. If you ever find something new and fun to do with the family, do come and tell us on the forum so that we can all try it out! It's great to hear what everyone's been up to!

As always, I've tried to bring you a selection of fun-sounding events and some highlights from across the site this month. Hope you enjoy the newsletter!

Say hello to our new Midwife Sam Lealman! Sam is an Independent Midwife, Hypnobirth Teacher and Certified Infant Massage Instructor and runs She will be taking over from Lorraine in the Ask the Midwife section of the forum. If you have any questions about pregnancy, labour, birth or postnatal care, please come and ask in this section.

Six-Week Challenge
Is your waistband feeling a little tight after Easter? Why not come and join in with our six-week challenge in the Weight-loss and Healthy Eating thread? We're a week in but that doesn't mean you can't start a little late - it's a great way to get motivated to make a difference. 

While you're there, if you have any health and fitness questions, come and ask personal trainer and fitbugs coach Zoe in our Ask the Trainer section.
Are you crafty?
We need some regular contributors to our rather neglected arts and crafts section. You just need to come up with some fun crafty ideas for kids to do alone or with parents and send them over to me to publish! If you have a business, anything you post will link back to your website and have a bit about you so it's a nice bit of free promotion too. Get in touch if you're interested!

Half-term Events
Half-term comes again at the end of the month, and there are already lots of events on our Things to Do section. There will be a special half-term events page coming in a week or so where you can check out everything that is on at-a-glance so keep an eye out for that. so if you have an event you would like to be added, make sure you get it listed! You can also make your event featured for just a pound a week!
Essex Mums Awards
Over the next month I will launch the Essex Mums awards voting, where you can give thanks to local businesses that have really impressed you and to let people know what Essex Mums love and want to recommend to others. If you have any more category suggestions share them here. Please come and suggest anything you think would be good and keep an eye out for future messages about voting!

We tend to be a bit mean when it comes to cereal. Coco Pops are only allowed on holiday and we told the kids that you could only get Nutella in France. So when we were asked to review some of the new range from Honey Monster Foods, they couldn’t believe their luck!

The Kids Activity Expo
 is a one day event where you can come along and visit a range of activity clubs, such as dance, drama, tuition, fitness and adventure. Watch performances, and take part in taster sessions! A great way to encourage your kids to be active and healthy. 

It is taking place on Sunday 18th May at Havering College, Ardleigh Green Road, Hornchurch, RM11 2LL

Father and son Keith and Morgan Williams have now combined their skills to create Williams Family Photographers, as well as Keith and Morgan, wife and mother Ann is involved in the business as are daughters Catherine and Jennifer whilst the grandchildren, are often asked to pose and model.
They have converted a squash courts complex into a state of the art photography studio with a seamless infinity wall, cinematic viewing room , changing rooms and offices and with a spacious car park outside the door it’s very easy for mums to bring babies and young children. The studio is fully CRB certified.
