Parent Ambassador Version 2.0

In 2010, the Archdiocese of Chicago launched a new initiative called Parent Ambassadors. The goal of the program is to involve parents in the recruiting process and achieve our overall goal of more kids in great Catholic schools.  Since 2010, over 75 schools have implemented their own program and it has contributed to three consecutive years where over half of all elementary schools are stable or growing.

On October 3rd we held a Parent Ambassador Training at St. Frances of Rome in Cicero. We were excited to launch a new version of the Parent Ambassador program that takes a look at best practices and practical suggestions that will strengthen your school’s Parent Ambassador Program. If you are thinking about implementing Parent Ambassadors at your school, we hope that this new version gives you the necessary tools to start your own program. If your school has developed a program, we hope that we can provide some new ideas or insights that will strengthen your efforts.

Here's a recap of the training with some links.

There's a new guidebook for version 2.0.

There are three steps to creating your Parent Ambassador Program:

1. Communicate with parents:
Sample Script and Letter
Sample Flyer

2. Host a Kick Off Session:
We've come up with 8 ways that parents can help.

3.  A few weeks after your Kick Off Session, you'll want to Follow Up:
Follow Up

We have more materials on the portal page.  They can be found here:

We believe that Parent Ambassadors are having a real impact in our schools.  If you'd like to create a program at your school, but need some assistance, please contact us at  Thank you!

November 10 at Navy Pier
New Futuro will be hosting 4 pre-event workshops focusing on exploring careers, the college application process, and creating a paying for college strategy. These workshops are in the community and appropriate for students in grades 7-12th. We anticipate thousands of families in attendance at these events. We highly encourage parents to attend since the presentation will be bilingual and provide tips on how to support students on their college journey. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded at each pre-event workshop regardless of the student’s grade level.
