WorldSkills International and WorldSkills Netherlands, invite you to the WorldSkills Conference 2018, 15–16 October 2018, in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Through a series of keynotes, world cafés, workshops, best practices sessions, and visits to local enterprising skills initiatives, WorldSkills Conference 2018 will create conversations on the global future of skills. This is an interactive conference designed for both the national and international Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) community.
It is a year since WorldSkills publicly made its commitment to HeForShe, the United Nations solidarity campaign for gender equality. This was in the main, symbolic – an attempt by our movement to highlight the continued disparity between the opportunities that young women and men face as they pursue careers in vocational skills.
On 9 April, the 500th day until the next world championship of skills – WorldSkills Kazan 2019 – the WorldSkills Flag Relay reached Seoul, Korea. During the ceremony at Seoul Technical High School the WorldSkills Competitions in Busan (1978) and Seoul (2001) were celebrated, and patches from those Competitions were added to the WorldSkills flag.
VCOM, a high-tech educational technology enterprise, has become the latest global partner of WorldSkills International, joining a group of leading industry partners dedicated to lending their expertise to the worldwide hub of skills.
The President and CEO of WorldSkills celebrated ten years of global partnership with Samsung, at a meeting with Samsung Electronics executives including Vice Chairman and CEO, Mr Boo-Keun Yoon. During the meetings at the end of January WorldSkills and Samsung reflected on the past 10 years of partnership, as well as the outlook for the next decade.
A new group of 10 Champions representing 10 skills, from 10 Member countries were in Shanghai, China to start their two-year journey as part of the Champions Trust. The week-long training camp transitioned them from Champions to WorldSkills ambassadors through a series of personal development training, public speaking, and leadership exercises.
