Competition Preparation Week was a huge success

David Hoey, CEO WorldSkills International

The Competition Preparation Week (CPW), held last week in São Paulo, Brazil, was the official launch of the countdown towards the 43rd WorldSkills Competition. I would like to personally thank all Chief and Deputy Chief Experts, Workshop Managers, Workshop Sector Managers, Jury Presidents, and Communications Officers as you are all integral to the success of the Competition.

To us, it was very exciting to see all the work and effort of the Competition Organizer, WorldSkills São Paulo 2015, come together in a very successful event. The technical meetings relating to the 50 skills, were very productive and it brought us closer to finalizing all the details for the Competition. The One School One Country programme was launched, which will involve 55 local secondary schools in São Paulo. WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 also unveiled their Celebration Stamp, which is part of the Brazilian Post Office’s annual programme of celebration stamps.

We are now six months away from the Opening Ceremony of the Competition. Time will go quickly and there is still a lot of work to be done. But I would like to take this opportunity to invite you all to come to the event and witness the greatest skills development and excellence showcase in the world. See you in August.
