Happy New Year from WorldSkills

The past year was another exciting one

With major skills related events around the world along with a very progressive and productive General Assembly in Lucerne, Switzerland. The new WorldSkills brand and direction has come alive and is gaining awareness throughout the world. Our WorldSkills Champions have been busy creating a new Champions Trust to engage and keep past Competitors involved.

This year will also be filled with exciting events that will build on the momentum of the WorldSkills movement. We start out the year with the Competition Preparation Week, where Experts, sponsors and Delegates meet to plan and prepare for the 43rd WorldSkills Competition in São Paulo, Brazil.

Throughout the year, our 72 Member countries and regions will be hosting National Skills Competitions to select and further train their representatives for WorldSkills São Paulo 2015.

In August, WorldSkills São Paulo 2015 takes place and the world will gather in Brazil for the premier international skills excellence event of the year. We look forward to welcoming thousands of visitors, Competitors, Experts, Delegates, partners, sponsors, and guests. The WorldSkills Competition brings unique awareness to skills excellence and development worldwide and is an essential and effective strategy for the social and economic transformation of communities and countries.

Some of the highlights to look forward to during the Competition are:

  1. Our first class Conference Programme “a must attend” for leaders in Vocational Education and Training, industry, government, and education.
  2. WorldSkills Connect — a chance to network and meet like-minded individuals from all over the world to discuss innovations, best practices, policy, and training methods.
  3. Industry and Education visits to Brazil companies and colleges.

We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year and welcoming you to our flagship event in August.

From the Board of Directors of WorldSkills International, the Board of Trustees of the WorldSkills Foundation and the Secretariat, we wish you and yours a very happy, healthy and successful New Year!
