WorldSkills is proud to recognize World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) on 15 July 2018! Share with us videos using #SkillsChangeLives and #WYSD to join WorldSkills and other organizations like the United Nations, to raise awareness on the importance of youth developing skills.
We believe #SkillsChangeLives. Through the power of skills individuals, communities, and countries are propelled towards a more prosperous future.
In June, WorldSkills hosted social media training sessions for Champions, Members, and partners to learn about video storytelling from two innovative social media journalists, Yusuf Omar and Sumaiya Omar, Co-founders of Hashtag Our Stories. The training was designed to help participants develop within their own online communities, individuals to tell the stories of how #SkillsChangeLives.
The training included three key elements:
Experience- the power of mobile storytelling
Empower- providing the skills and resources to film their stories and basic video editing tips
Engage- now that we’ve made the videos, how do we share them online!
Following the #HashTagOurStories training, our Champions Trust representatives were tasked to put their new skills to the test to show us how skills have changed their lives. Here are a few highlights of their stories. Watch more stories on our Facebook page.
