About US Sailing's Reach Program
US Sailing’s REACH Program utilizes sailing as an educational platform, challenging youth to embrace education, establish a love of learning and explore productive Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based careers. Combining educators, sailing instructors, engineers, scientists with today’s youth to provide them with a one of a kind authentic learning experience, giving students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in a cooperative work environment.

US Sailing is accepting proposals for financial support of substantive, innovative, and collaborative Reach programming.

Reach at US Sailing's Leadership Forum

The Business of Reach session was filled with over 100 people interested in learning more about the Reach program. You can download the presentation  in case you missed it.

In the Reaching into STEM with Math Sciece and ROVs session, Rachael Miller from Rozalia Project for a clean ocean and Jessica Servis presented to 45 people on activities from Module 6 Marine Debris and Module 10 Underwater Exploration. Download the sailing based missions for building ROVs and the marine debris data card.


US Sailing's STEM Educator Course - Course Registration

October 12 - CYC in Gross Pointe, MI Host a 2014 course at your sailing center

Host a course at your sailing center. Reach out to your local teachers, sailing instructors, and informal educators about attending a STEM Educator Course. Hosts should be able to guarantee 8-10 participants. Contact Jessica Servis to host a STEM Educator Course.

The Reach Educator Guide  is designed to implement REACH at your sailing center or in your middle school classroom, is now available for purchase through the US Sailing Store.
