20 UNDER 40

Congratulations to Britni Jessup of Rowell Brokaw Architects and Karen Williams of Pivot Architecture for being selected for this year's 20 Under 40 Awards.

The 20 Under 40 awards recognize promising people in the local business and nonprofit community — residents who excel in their careers while taking time to help with charitable and civic causes. Nominations are made by the public, or friends and business associates. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges, including previous 20 Under 40 winners.

CALL FOR PRESENTERS
2017 AIA-SWO Professional Pin-Up @ UO

AIA-SWO would like to invite you to present in January at our annual Professional Pin-Up, at Lawrence Hall (UO). The format of the presentation is similar to an academic studio review.  Multiple firms will be presenting concurrently, with rotating reviewers comprised of students, faculty, and local professionals.

Give future architecture interns the opportunity to witness ‘real life’ project design processes from local and regional architectural, planning, construction, and engineering professionals.  Showcase your projects during any phase of design and/or construction.  Invite multiple professions involved with the project to present and discuss how collaboration affects design.

Respond to aiaswo@gmail.com if you would like to participate or learn more.  Thank you!

JOB POSTINGS

PiVOT Architecture

PIVOT Architecture seeks a design professional with zero to six years of experience. Revit proficiency preferred and professional architectural degree required. Candidate should possess strong organizational, design, and technical skills.

PIVOT Architecture is a firm of 21, working from our offices in the center of downtown Eugene. Our clients are diverse, and our work includes a wide range of public and private projects. Our people work in an open and transparent way in small teams that are formed for each project. We actively listen to each other and our clients, and produce places that are responsive to programmatic requirements, context, and budget. We recognize our responsibility to manage resources thoughtfully, and understand that the decisions we make affect the health of our communities and environment. We seek people who understand that implementing these values requires thought, care, and creativity.

We have enjoyed participating in the revitalization of Eugene’s newly vibrant downtown, and are proud to have contributed to the increasing vitality of a city that is a rewarding place to live and practice architecture. Sustainable values and livability are important here, and as the town continues to grow, local architects enjoy the opportunity to directly and immediately advance the quality of our community’s life.
