About the Program
Jarrett Walker is one of the most innovative planners and advocates for public transit in North America today.

In this engaging presentation, Walker leads us beyond the distractions that sometimes dominate transit debates, and focuses on understanding public transit’s core power: to give people freedom and opportunity as a city grows denser. He will discuss many of the recent transit network studies he’s worked on around the world, including the huge redesign of Houston’s bus network implemented in 2015.

This program is part of the American Institute of Architects Southwestern Oregon’s Design Excellence Speaker Series.  This program is also part of the LiveMove Speaker Series.

JOB POSTINGS

PiVOT Architecture

PIVOT Architecture seeks a design professional with zero to six years of experience. Revit proficiency preferred and professional architectural degree required. Candidate should possess strong organizational, design, and technical skills.

PIVOT Architecture is a firm of 21, working from our offices in the center of downtown Eugene. Our clients are diverse, and our work includes a wide range of public and private projects. Our people work in an open and transparent way in small teams that are formed for each project. We actively listen to each other and our clients, and produce places that are responsive to programmatic requirements, context, and budget. We recognize our responsibility to manage resources thoughtfully, and understand that the decisions we make affect the health of our communities and environment. We seek people who understand that implementing these values requires thought, care, and creativity.

We have enjoyed participating in the revitalization of Eugene’s newly vibrant downtown, and are proud to have contributed to the increasing vitality of a city that is a rewarding place to live and practice architecture. Sustainable values and livability are important here, and as the town continues to grow, local architects enjoy the opportunity to directly and immediately advance the quality of our community’s life.

Please digitally submit cover letter, resume, and portfolio to: info@pivotarchitecture.com, and visit us at www.pivotarchitecture.com
