Interfaith Service Day
This coming Sunday! August 7th 2022

Arrive promptly by 8:30 am at the New Haven Green (corner of Temple and Elm) to volunteer for a service day project  OR  arrive anytime before noon and help us hand paint our giant billboard mural!

Dear friends,

Are you excited?  I know I am.

I know Saint Andrew’s is bringing over twenty members.  Wow!  And don’t forget the OASIS Multi Church Youth Ministry, and seventeen faith communities, including our Muslim brothers and sisters, and our Jewish Brothers and sisters, and the Baha'is.  And Channel 8 News, and News12 Connecticut, and the WPKN radio interview last Monday (Listen Here!), and the Mayor of New Haven is expected to attend, and….. seventeen faith communities, seven service projects… the Jerusalem Peacebuilders are here from Israel and Palestine….
OK. It's clear I’m a little excited!
My father taught me never to boo a player on the field.  “Look,” he said, “on the field you’ve got a few dozen exhausted players needing rest surrounded by fifty-thousand people needing exercise.  So let’s cheer everyone on the field.”

Today, I’m cheering for you and I’m rooting for you to join me on the field of life.  Let’s serve, pray, and heal each other, this Sunday morning, as a living act of faith, hope, and love.
What will we do?  We will serve, pray, and heal.
How will we do it?  In community.
Where will we serve, pray, and heal?
You will choose and the work will be as light or heavy as you choose.

  • Make 100 sandwiches and distribute them to the hungry.
  • Visit and restore a Jewish cemetery.
  • Visit and learn about a transitional housing program; if you choose, help paint a room.

  • Paint a 48 foot peace mural to be posted on I-95
