A message from Jae, our Hotline Director and Programs Manager

Hi Friend,

Thank you for celebrating the 🎉 2nd birthday 🎂 of the Games and Online Harassment Hotline with us this month!

The Hotline was born out of the need to respond to the harm pervasive in online games spaces and within games industry workplaces. We got good and tired of watching friends, acquaintances, creators we follow, and colleagues go through intensely challenging bouts of online toxicity and workplace mistreatment while feeling like they had nowhere to turn that got what they were going through.
SUPPORT THE HOTLINE!
Your support of the Hotline makes care for our community like this possible!

We’ve learned a lot doing this work over the past two years, and we are constantly improving and learning better ways to run the Hotline as we go. Our resource “How Do I Stay Safe From A Hate Raid” came about in part because we have seen a real need for this kind of tool through our work. We’ve started offering Digital Safety Workshops for game developers and influencers and support in building custom policies and protocols for game studios and publishers. And we've been piloting a support space for people who cause harm. We know to do this because of our work on the Hotline.

We need your help to keep doing this work and to keep spreading the Hotline far and wide. Donate today so that we can keep offering help to victims, keep developing games community specific tools and trainings, keep talking to anyone who needs support.

SUPPORT THE HOTLINE!

We do what we do because we see the positive impact these efforts have on our community each time someone gets the help they need on the Hotline. Thank you for supporting us and one another.

P.S. If you or someone you know needs help and support, we are here for you. Just text “SUPPORT” to 23368 to get started.

P.P.S. A very special thank you to Whitethorn Games, Prince_Harming, SweetNShady, CosPilates, that_deangelo and LatinXinGames - thank you for charity streaming for the Games Hotline this month!
