Museums on the Government Agenda at A Conversation on Ontario's Culture Strategy
The Hon. Eleanour McMahon and the Deputy Minister, Maureen Adamson, sat down with maxine bailey on Tuesday night to discuss Ontario's Culture Strategy at an event for The Arts Advocate subscribers. Museums and heritage were included in the discussion that addressed concerns and current trends in the culture sector as a whole. The Heritage and Community Museums Program Review was mentioned as one of the upcoming recommendations of the Culture Strategy to be implemented. The Deputy and Minister also mentioned a Discussion Paper in the works; look out for the OMA's response in the weeks following its release.

Dialogue on Intangible Heritage, Symposium: November 22, 2017
Practitioners, proponents and stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds share perspectives and engage in an interactive dialogue on intangible cultural heritage and its significance to heritage conservation.
Giving Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after American Thanksgiving (and Black Friday and Cyber Monday), to encourage people to also give back. The Canadian initiative started by GIV3 and Canada Helps includes resources for registered charities and non-profits to help engage their communities.
