Celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

APASA Staff Organization Spotlight
The mission of APASA is to promote the general welfare of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) staff, faculty, and students at UC Berkeley. Our goals include promoting inclusivity, advancing the professional development of API staff, advocating for the API staff community, and encouraging identity development.

APASA hosts an annual Lunar New Year celebration, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month events, and numerous other events. We facilitate programs throughout the year, including mentorship groups, professional development panels, book discussions, community spaces, and more. We also offer a scholarship to Berkeley staff to attend the Asian Pacific Americans in Higher Education (APAHE) conference.

Ways to get involved with APASA:
Resources
The Division of Equity & Inclusion has a website compiling resources to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, including an important message from the Vice Chancellor of Equity & Inclusion and the Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities.

The UC Berkeley Library provides literature that helps to celebrate the diverse histories and cultures of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Americans who have shaped the history of the United States.

Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies publishes news articles from scholars in the Department of Ethnic Studies about the long history of anti-Asian Violence.
