Adventures into the Unknown

Hello friends:
I'm honored and thrilled that 67 backers so far have stepped up to help contribute funds to complete my film Power of the River. That makes over $8,500 to date. To everyone who has pledged already, you are heroes: early adopters of an ambitious project. But here's the rub if we don't hit our full goal of $50,000, we don't collect any of those pledges.

We still have time to reach our goal— and we have lots going on behind the scenes if we can just pull it all together in time. Paddling Life Magazine, Steamboat Today, and the Internets are picking up our story (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, for instance). Please share the campaign with friends and everyone you know. Tell people what excites you about Power of the River! Here's the link:

I've already put basically everything I have into the film. We successfully completed our adventure into the unknown, only to begin the next adventure ... into other unknowns:

  • How soon can we finish this film?
  • Can it achieve its mission of helping to keep one river wild and free for future generations?
  • By balancing economic need with ecological sense, can Bhutan show the world reason for hope?

I should emphasize that all funds raised through this campaign go, not to me, but to our editor, cameramen, composer, and the performers of our original score. If I was your money, that is just about the first place in the world I would want to go.

All funds raised go to creative staff
I thank you all for being loyal readers, viewers, and supporters of my work!
Cheers, Greg

Stefan Smulovitz

Stefan Smulovitz
Stefan joined us for 10 days of our expedition across Bhutan, turning each of us into audiophiles and enthusiasts of all things bovine. He captured more than 25 hours of authentic Bhutanese sounds including nuns chanting, a private ceremony to ward off evil from inside a remote monastery, and the surreal "fish ear perspective." His work promises the film an original score that is evocative and mind expanding.

Dave McCoy

Featured Angler

Dave McCoy
Dave takes to rivers like a, well, like a fish to ... nah, I can do better than that. Raised in a family where anything else would have been unthinkable, Dave had no choice but become a fisherman. But true to form, just being an angler wasn't enough, he had to become one of the world's great flyfishing conservationists. Along the way he learned to maneuver a fly rod like a maestro, navigate a raft in Class V whitewater like a ballerina on her toes, and spin yarns like a thirsty Irishman.
