THE VALUE OF PRESENTING TOUR A
MAJOR SUCCESS IN ATLANTIC CANADA!
The Value of Presenting tour, presented in partnership by the APA and CAPACOA, engaged over 110 theatre and festival presenters, arts funders, board members, artist managers, artists and more for public discussions and workshops in
NL, PE and NS from March 2nd - 8th!
"I so appreciate the Atlantic Presenters Association taking the lead in bringing together so many players in the performing arts ecosystem from all four Atlantic provinces. On the backdrop of the great diversity of experiences each participant brought, we shared thoughtful and provocative conversations that, I am hopeful, will lead to considerable improvements in attracting ever wider and more diverse paying audiences to the performing arts." Inga Petri, Facilitator
"I was very happy to attend the public discussion in Charlottetown. I will be able to feed this information into policy development at the provincial and municipal levels. It is massively important that the cultural sector learns to articulate its value proposition clearly and unapologetically to its audiences, funders and the wider society. Why should people pay us to do what we do if we can't explain what we provide in return. This session was a huge step in the right direction."
Mark Sandiford, Executive Director, Culture PEI
"The notion of using attendance figures as means to gauge your audience and not demographics like age, income, etc. Made a lot of sense. We've already met about the session and are devising ways to adjust our marketing and and programming strategies." Aiden Flynn, Arts and Culture Centre, St. John's
The APA was thrilled to present this tour to its members and colleagues in Atlantic Canada. We look forward to our next opportunity to bring together
all corners of the east coast arts community!
The APA and CAPACOA gratefully acknowledge
the support of Canadian Heritage.
