Capricious No.13 - WATER is Now Available!

Capricious Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Capricious No. 13 - WATER. This issue is guest curated by independent creative director JOFF and Sadaf Rassoul Cameron, director of Kindle Project.

With the theme of Water, Capricious delves into one of the most pressing global concerns of the 21st century, finding a dynamic intersection between social consciousness and fine arts photography.  Culled from thousands of submissions, the editorial selection evokes not only the most visually profound forms of water, but documents our shifting relationship with water, whether it be through celebration, or sense of loss.

Capricious No.13 moves through sections like Arid, Drift, and Quiet, a fluid visual narrative honoring water. And speaks to our palimpsest-like landscape, where the rise and fall of water lines are marked, and the history of water remains tangible. The work selected explores a myriad of watery dimensions, from the intimate, as water spills into our personal histories, quietly shaping our daily rituals; to global, as water is tamed, an ancient presence spun through industrialization. What ultimately comes to surface is to what degree water, in turn, overwhelms and overcome us. Also included, is a special chapter of curated texts by Hanna Wilde, including diverse variations on the theme, from poetry to political essay, from stage performance to film excerpt.

This is a celebration of water, a call to action and reflection, where conceptual aesthetic notions and global urgency coalesce.

Founded in 2002, New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is a not-for-profit collective of professionals working with contemporary art. Their mission is to create an open flow of information, support, and collaboration within their field and to develop a stronger sense of community. Each December in Miami, NADA runs a renowned art fair to vigorously pursue our goals of exploring new or underexposed art that is not typical of the “art establishment.” NADA’s fair is held in parallel with Art Basel Miami Beach and is recognized as a much needed alternative assembly of the world’s youngest and strongest art galleries dealing with emerging Contemporary Art. It is the only major American art fair to be run by a non-profit organization. www.newartdealers.org
