In effort to share expertise across the region, CPHIMA has begun a mentor program. The purpose of this program is to provide a resource for students, a new professional or interested others the opportunity to network with a seasoned professional in their area of interest and/or expertise.
If you are interested in either serving as a mentor or in being mentored, please send the following information to Nathan McWilliams. He will provide you with the name and contact information of an individual of like interest.

Business Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2011
President, Laura Rizzo called the meeting to order at 11:50 a.m.
Approval of Minutes:
The minutes of the December 17, 2010 Business Meeting were approved as presented in the CNN eAlert and on the CPHIMA website. All members in attendance approved. Motion to approve by Kristine Lucabaugh, second by Nathan McWilliams
Dan Christopher presented the membership report. He also announced and introduced the new members.

CPHIMA Mentoring Program
Nathan McWilliams reminded everyone about the mentoring program. They had one student sign up and was successfully matched with a mentor. Information about the mentoring program has been sent out via the listserve and is on the website. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or being mentored, please contact Nathan McWilliams or any board member.
PHIMA Board agreed that duplication of the Board of Directors website and Base Camp is confusing. All documents will be moved on to Base Camp and deleted from the website. Information pertinent to all member will remain on the website, with historic documents filed in Base Camp.
CPHIMA Distinguished Member
Kim Murawski was nominated and chosen for the CPHIMA Distinguished Member Award. Kim has served Program Director since 2005 and has helped to provide outstanding education sessions. Kim couldn’t be here today, so we will honor her at the June meeting.
PHIMA Ballot for 2011-2012
Nathan McWilliams and the nominating committee, Jim Bifano and Karen Tinney have recruited one individual for each open position. Open positions are: President-Elect, Treasurer, Director, and Program Director. Ballots will be sent out via KnowledgeConnex by April 28. Please vote. Also, please consider volunteering to be on the ballot or becoming a committee chairperson. Kristine Lucabaugh, President-Elect is looking for individuals to be on the 2011-2012 board.
2011-12 Membership Renewal and Planning Survey
Will be sent out in late May or early June.
CPHIMA Member Masters’ Program Survey—future of Medical Transcription
Thank you to everyone that participated in this survey. Grace LaConte has agreed to share her Masters’ Paper when it has been finalized.
Proposed Budget for 2011-2012
The board approved the proposed budget that Kristine Lucabaugh prepared with several amendments. The board agreed to increased the meeting rates by $10 in order to cover expenses. Once amendments have been made, the proposed budget will be posted on the website.
2011 Annual Meeting
May 9-11 at the Hershey Lodge. Meeting begins at 9 a.m. on Monday and ends @ noon on Wednesday. President’s reception is Monday evening.
PHIMA Distinguished Member
There were nominations for 3 individuals. Final announcement will be made in the near future.
Other PHIMA Updates
ICD-10 Task Force-Laurine Johnson. Several representatives from CPHIMA are on the Task Force—Adele King, LGH, Chris Leiphart, Ephrata, Trish Stoltzfus, Pinnacle. The task force is looking to start lunch and learns for anatomy and physiology courses.
Hill Day planned for May 11 immediately following the annual meeting. There will be bus transportation from Hershey to Harrisburg. More details are forth coming. Hill day provides an opportunity to discuss the HIM profession with our local representatives.
AHIMA Hill Winter Team Talks and Hill Day, March 28 & 29 in Washington DC. Laura Rizzo will be attending the national AHIMA Hill day.
Healthcare Financial Management Association Meeting in Lancaster, PA, March 31 and April 1
