Board Meeting Recap

The first quarter PHIMA Board meeting was held August 13th in Mechanicsburg. Board members, committee chairs, regional presidents and the Executive Director were in attendance. The group discussed such topics as the PHIMA Strategic Plan and its alignment with the AHIMA Strategic Plan. The Executive Committee of PHIMA (voting members of the Board) is currently reanalyzing and updating the current plan. Once finalized, we will share it with our members via Engage.

Our education committee has been busy preparing a robust educational calendar for our members, including webinars, Fall Conference and the Annual Conference in May. An important ICD-10-CM/PCS coding update webinar will be offered in September. Mark your calendars for the PHIMA Fall Conference on Friday, November 2nd and will focus on one of the strategic pillars, Health Informatics.

The attendees discussed the upcoming AHIMA House of Delegates meeting in Miami and the effort to get our members’ feedback on key issues, specifically the draft curricula competencies.

Also discussed was the newly revised Legal Manual portal, the final Treasurer’s Report, leveraging social media and technology and involvement of students in the association.

We are committed to serving YOU, our members. If you have any questions or comments, please contact us at: contactus@phima.org.
