Add a splash of color to your patio or porch for the holiday. There is still time to fill those planters or hanging baskets with lovely, long-lasting annual and perennial combinations.  Not sure which plants to put together?  Not to worry.  We can help!
July Gardening Tips - Keep Planting
  • Plants that are newly established will need to be well watered by allowing water to penetrate deep into the soil.
  • Apply mulch 3-4 inches deep to retain moisture and control weeds.
  • Prop up tree branches as they become heavy with fruit.
  • Stake tomatoes and other plants that may need support as fruits, vegetables, and blossoms become large.
  • Remove faded rose blossoms.
  • Deadhead or prune annuals and perennials to encourage new blooms and improve plant appearance.  Rudbeckia and Echinacea are just a couple of perennials that benefit from deadheading.
