How will GDPR affect Retention?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in May 2018. It protects the rights of individuals, giving them control over how their data is handled, and aims to simplify the regulatory process for businesses.
There’s a lot of work to be done ahead of 25th May 2018, but you need to resist the temptation to put this off. In fact, the sooner you start, the better. There’s a great deal of documentation and processes that your Data Protection Officer needs to look at, particularly around how you store and handle member data.
