Alberta Declares a State of Public Health Emergency

The Government of Alberta has announced a state of public health emergency, along with new restrictions and exemptions for the business community. Some restrictions, such as those for public gatherings, came into effect on Thursday, September 16th at 12:01 AM. Other restrictions around adult fitness and restaurants, for example, will not be in full-force until Monday, September 20th at 12:01 AM.

Please review the full list of restrictions here. BizConnect also has further information and resources for businesses.

Those businesses deciding to take part in the Restrictions Exemption Program (REP) will not have to apply or register to do so. By taking part in REP, businesses will be able to avoid recently announced restrictions. Audits and enforcement will occur to ensure that rules are followed.

Postmedia has also put together a helpful card that runs through some of the restrictions, found here
