Starting with an acknowledgement of climate change's impacts on "every facet of Cape Cod’s natural, built, and community systems", the plan seeks to provide a framework for a resilient and sustainable future.

In a presentation to the Select board, students highlighted the benefits: shade for vehicles, creation of clean energy, and reduced electricity costs for the school while reducing greenhouse gases.
