COMPLETE / a sample of our accomplishments

Aspen, Colorado

Situated on the edge of a cliff on an incredible site boasting panoramic views of the Aspen/Snowmass resorts and the Roaring Fork Valley, the client and design team recognized the architectural uniqueness of this 1969 modern gem. Rather than tearing it down, they vowed to restore its character while contemporizing it. Improvements include refining the architecture to its original elements by highlighting the distinctive roof beacons with curved glulam beams, redesigning interior spaces and fenestration to have a stronger indoor/outdoor living experience and applying a restrained interior color palette to every surface. Accentuating the prominence of the architecture within the sweeping landscape was a prime consideration as well.

Working with Sarah and Delvon was a positive experience thanks to their sound advice to save our home and renovate it rather than tearing it down and rebuilding from the ground up. Their ability to figure and negotiate the best Floor Area Ratio (FAR) and usable/permitable areas, their ability to listen to our ideas and include them, and most of all their ‘ahead of the curve’ design sense and genuine enthusiasm for the project made it an extremely enjoyable experience.

Skyport Development / HOSPITALITY

Denver, Colorado

Rowland+Broughton would like to acknowledge Colorado-based client David Mosteller and his company, Skyport Development, which operates numerous concessions at the Denver International Airport. Working alongside this team for over 8 years, R+B’s design team was given the opportunity to diversify our portfolio and collaborate with Skyport in designing a new wave of restaurants and retail shops at the airport’s bustling Concourse B. From repurposing a former smoking lounge to the high-end Aviator’s Sports Bar & Bar-B-Que to working alongside the football legend John Elway in designing the fourth Elway’s Steakhouse in Colorado, R+B is proud to work with Skyport in the unique positioning of iconic Colorado brands at DIA. Continuing to advance concessions at the airport, we are proud to announce that R+B, in partnership with Skyport Development, is looking forward to the completion of Time Travel and Rocky Mountain Wine and Spirits. Both will open on the Concourse B Mezzanine in 2015.

The work that R+B has done for me has proven invaluable in winning proposals at Denver International Airport. They are responsive, communicative and dynamic designers that get it done!  David Mosteller, President of Skyport Development

PROJECT SHOWCASE / in progress

Limelight Hotel / HOTEL

Ketchum, Idaho

R+B is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to design the interiors of a new Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho, scheduled to be built by Aspen Skiing Company near Sun Valley’s River Run base at Bald Mountain. Modeled after the company’s successful Limelight Hotel in Aspen, for which R+B has recently completed a full interior design program, plans for the new Limelight include 111 hotel rooms and suites, open-plan public spaces and 15 free market residential units. Contemporary and inviting, the design aesthetic will encourage guests to “bask in the limelight” of this unique hotel concept. The team at R+B anticipates further strengthening our professional alliance alongside Aspen Skiing Company as the Limelight brand continues to grow.
We are excited to be working with Rowland+Broughton on another project. They have developed a respected reputation by successfully creating thoughtful and inspiring designs while building innovative hotel and hospitality brands. Don Schuster, Vice President of Hospitality, Aspen Skiing Company
