Good passwords = good security

Did you know that the top 10 passwords in use are terrible because they are so insecure? Did you read Google's list of the the top 10 most popular passwords? Good practices regarding your passwords are essential for good security online. Creating a good password is not difficult and it's worth the effort. 
  • Make your passwords strong - but also easy for you to remember.
  • Do not use single words that can be found in a dictionary – even in other languages.
  • Do not use easy-to-guess passwords.

DCSI grants information sessions

The Department for Communities & Social Inclusion is presenting a series of Grant Information Sessions for community organisations on grant availability, eligibility and guidelines. 

The first session will be held in Adelaide at 10am on Wednesday 25 February 2015Register by 5pm Friday 20 February 2015

Further sessions will be available in regional areas: Berri, Victor Harbor, Kadina, Port Augusta, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills

Free images for newsletters and blogs

Including photos in your publications makes them look great and also makes them more appealing to your readers. If you are looking for images for your newsletter, blog or other publication, take a look at some of the free photo sites that are available on the web. 

  • Flickr - a photo sharing site. Search for CC licensed photos
  • Freeimages - just like its says! Photographers can contribute too
  • Photopin - searches Flickr for CC licensed photos with a filter for Commercial or Non-Commercial License
  • morgueFile - free images for creative projects
  • Unsplash - free high resolution photos that you can download and use for any purpose. New photos are added regularly - you can sign up to get an email alert
  • Wylio - also finds CC licensed images; a pro account includes help with resizing and crediting
