Mona Vale to Warriewood Swim and 1km Janice Memorial Swim

The weather over this summer has been somewhat unpredictable, with Tsunamis and Cyclone Swells, however Janice Mason and Don Jenkins were definitely smiling down on us as over 350 people took to the water last Sunday for the 1km Janice Mason and 2.26 Don Jenkins memorial swim!

The conditions for the 1km were perfect, the 2.26km from Warriewood was a little tougher with people driving from as far as Bathurst to participate.  There was a great community atmosphere which we couldn't have achieved without our volunteers and sponsors, Pittwater RSL, Mona Vale Music and DMC Fins as well as our Warriewood SLSC for hosting us at the starting line.

Thank you all for your participation and support and we look forward to doing it all again with a new club next year.

Our younger teams competed over the weekend at Branch. This was the first real carnival of the season as covid delays, large surf and a tsunami warnings made perious carnivals too hard or not go ahead. The kids were excited, conditions were favorable for the younger age groups and the weather didn't disappoint.

MV Team received medals for the following events,

U10 Individual Swim Ben R 3rd
U11 Board Rescue Neve L and Taylor M 3rd
U11 Individual Swim Neve L 3rd

Good luck to the Branch Beach carnival competitors competing this weekend.

Firstly let's introduce you to Kira-Leigh Rule a Physiotherapist at the Mona Vale clinic.
Growing up on the Northern Beaches Kira-Leigh’s passion for Physiotherapy arose from being an elite national level gymnast for 12 years. Going through her own array of injuries and working through the rehabilitation process numerous times, she grew an amazing appreciation for the value of Physio in individuals lives. Kira-Leigh draws on her comprehensive understanding of her human body through completing her Bachelor of Physiotherapy and combining this with her experience as a qualified mat and reformer pilates trainer (Cert IV). Her athletic background gives a unique understanding of the impact of injury, rehabilitation and pain management. Her aim as a Physiotherapist, is a collaborative approach to reach clients goals by combining clinical education and individualised rehabilitation. Taking your treatment beyond the injury itself and remodeling the physical and emotional body, aiming for long lasting changes. Outside of the clinic, Kira-Leigh loves involving herself in a range of sporting activities, walking her dog and teaching pilates across the Northern Beaches.
