December Speaks

Chair's Message
Fellow GLASers,

Season’s Greetings!

“The Magic of the Season: Goodwill to All,” our ASNT-GLAS Holiday Party is upon us! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be joining us for pictures and gift collection, Marines will be joining us to collect for their renowned and beloved Toys for Tots program (bring a new unwrapped toy to receive a free 50/50 ticket!), and a professional magician will be joining us to perform table tricks and a floor show all to help us GLASers feel and share the good cheer and goodwill that is the spirit and magic of the holiday season. Along with my fellow Board elves, I hope to see you there at the lovely Embassy Suites in Downey! (While the flyer originally stated an end-time of 10pm, we’ll move things along so Santa can say “. . .  and to all a good night” closer to 9pm, even though Embassy Suites officially allows use of the room until 10pm.)

If you still want to purchase tickets, please contact our great Event Chair, the “jolly-good” Duane Schultz (626) 372-6514, to book any last remaining seats (to be held for you at our Check-in tables at the event) and/or to become a much-beloved Sponsor! We’re counting on our generous GLAS Sponsors to underwrite the cost of discounting regular adult tickets to be only $45 (about $20 off actual value), student tickets to be only $35, and allowing all kids under 12 to come FREE in order to make our Party truly family-friendly.

If you’re not going to be attending, however, we wish you a very happy holiday season and hope to see you back again in the new year at our favorite watering hole, good ol’ Maggie’s Pub, for our next regular 2nd Tuesday meeting on January 14. We will explore connections between the world of NDT and the world of welding since we’ll be hosting our special joint meeting with local members of AWS! (American Welding Society)
