The Nosotros team is recruiting individuals to participate in a survey to identify healthcare barriers faced by Mexican immigrants both in Arizona and before they migrated and the way they cope with health issues when they cannot access care.

We continued our community outreach and engagement efforts for our Liver Study in June, visiting El Consulado de México in Nogales, Menlo Family Center in Tucson, and at our offices at the Abrams Public Health Center. Congratulations to Melissa Lopez-Pentecost, M.S., RDN for completing her final dissertation defense on Wednesday, June 29 as part of her CTS Ph.D. degree. Her research project is “Informing Dietary Interventions for Obesity-Related Cancer Prevention in Mexican-Origin Hispanic Adults. Melissa has been a valuable member of the Nosotros team for years.
