Diabetes is a chronic disease that affects how your body converts food into energy. There are three main types of diabetes: type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetes. RESEARCH CORNER
The University of Arizona Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement is starting a new program: Research Outreach for Southern Arizona (ROSA).
ROSA wants to hear from you! Participate in a community survey on basic science to help researchers better understand the needs and priorities of communities regarding cancer prevention and control, treatment, and research.
How to Participate? Click here to fill out an interest form and someone from our team will contact you with more information.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be 18 years and older
• Must be of Hispanic/Latino descent
• Must be living in one of the five counties in southern Arizona: Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Cochise, or Yuma.
Participants will receive a $20 gift card for their time upon completion of a survey. The survey takes approximately 60 minutes to complete over the phone.
An Institutional Review Board responsible for human subjects research at The University of Arizona reviewed this research project and found it to be acceptable, according to applicable state and federal regulations and University policies designed to protect the rights and welfare of participants in research.
La Oficina de Participación y Alcance Comunitario de Cáncer de la Universidad de Arizona está iniciando un programa nuevo llamado Research Outreach for Southern Arizona (ROSA).

• Debe vivir en uno de los cinco condados del sur de Arizona: Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Cochise o Yuma.
Los participantes recibirán una tarjeta de regalo de $20 por su tiempo al completar una encuesta. La encuesta toma aproximadamente 60 minutos en completarse por teléfono.
Una Junta de Revisión Institucional es responsable de la investigación con sujetos humanos en la Universidad de Arizona revisó este proyecto de investigación y lo consideró aceptable, de acuerdo con las regulaciones estatales y federales aplicables y las políticas de la Universidad diseñadas para proteger los derechos y el bienestar de los participantes en la investigación.
