Swing Patrol
This is our annual Swing Ball where you can step out in style! Events like this are why we learn and we are so excited. We have never had the ability to hire a ballroom of this granduer so this event will be one of our largest and most spectacular to date.  Take one of London’s stunning dance halls, add a live swing band and everyone dressed up in swinging style… this night is not to be missed.
We call it the “Meet the Scene” Ball as a lot of new dancers will be attending. This is a great chance to meet other dancers from accross London and all over the community. It will be tailored for new dancers and for those attending their first big swing event. Your venue will be colour coded. Have a look at the bottom of the page, it's just a bit of fun.
The night will feature a fun beginner lesson at the start of the night, a small floor show, and of course a chance to ensure you are professionally photographed all dressed up! Most of all, there will be lots of dancing.

The details

Tube: A short walk from Shoreditch High Street overground, or Old Street tube station
Time: Doors open at 7:30pm
Lesson: A short lesson for beginners will be held at 7:45pm – a great ice breaker!

Live music

featuring The Shirt Tail Stompers. It will be a great night of live music from one of London’s favourite swing bands.

Social Dancing

A night mainly focussed on social dancing with only a few announcements, and one performance. Make no plans Sunday morning and make a night of it.

A note from Revival

It can be hard to know what look is from what era, and what is ‘swingin’ and what is not. That’s where a quick trip to Revival Retro can help . We specialize in 1930s and 1940s swing era clothing and have a vast choice of swing era clothing. Better still it’s all reproduction so comes in an array of modern sizes and can easily be washed and worn again and again which is great for dancers.
Remember though you don’t have to go out and spend a lot of money: representing your venue by wearing a certain colour can most easily be achieved via accessories: Flowers in your hair, a handkechief in your top pocket, long evening gloves, braces, a sash, a cummerbund, a tie, a belt. At the end of the day, swing dance is about having fun, so be comfortable, wear a smile and come meet some new friends.
