Hello friends...

We live in a paradoxical time. We are witnessing telltale signs of precipitous degradation of social discourse, democratic institutions, and planetary ecosystems. The threats to living systems and human civilization are much worse than most people recognize. The roots of our meta-crisis are far older and go far deeper than most people realize. 

At the same time, the seeds of a great evolutionary unfolding are germinating around the world (if you know where to look!). We are being called to participate in what is almost certainly the greatest transformational opportunity in the history of human civilization. The crises, breakdowns, and chaos resulting from the disintegration of the Material Worldview are creating the very conditions needed for global change.

In this month’s newsletter, we invite you to answer the call, to embrace this extraordinary and unprecedented chance to be a part of something much larger than ourselves. We invite you to start from wherever you are and join this noble quest. 

We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the ones that, by joining together, can manifest a world that is rooted in a sacred regard for all life, empowers all people to thrive, and consciously remains within ecological planetary boundaries.

This month’s blog frames our current situation in the arc of a much larger evolutionary story. It demonstrates how conventional wisdom about human nature fails to take into account the fundamental observation that consciousness evolves.  We are alive at a time when we can consciously participate in our own evolutionary transformation. We’ve transcended the technical challenges that forced us to postpone this event in January and are very excited to announce that we have rescheduled this event for Wednesday, February 15th at 7pm MST.  Highlights include:

1. A first look at our strategic direction for 2023
2. An opportunity to interact with fellow members of the Planet Movement
3. A chance to learn about the various ways the Planet Project can support you at all stages of your journey 
4. An interactive demo of the various capabilities our website and newly enhanced Planet Community put at your fingertips – this includes support for Planet Circles, the nascent Planetary Alliance, new navigation and search options, and more
5. A chance to help us shape the future of the Planet Project
6. This event will also kick-off the 14 Day Challenge we announced last month – a great opportunity to make a difference for the planet… and for yourself!

It fires the imagination and excites our desire to participate in the unfolding story of our global movement towards what Charles Eisenstein calls a “the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.”

Our latest progress...

Last month’s Youth and Green Business Event, co-sponsored by the Planet Project in support of the ALL Careers Challenge, proved to be an informative and inspiring evening. Martin Ogle, Entrepreneurial Earth founder and creator of the ALL Careers approach, put together a great program, with guest speakers, local green business leaders, students, teachers and others.

But the real inspiration came from the energy and creativity of the high school students that brought their passion to the event. These students expressed great interest and even urgency in being empowered to be part of the creation of a green economy. They voiced a need for their high school education to provide at least part of this empowerment. And they enthusiastically supported the creation of a "mentor system" of some kind to make it easy for them to connect with and learn from businesses in our communities that are doing a wide variety of work in more sustainable ways.

Stay tuned as we strive to meet these students where they are and develop new ways for the Planet Project to help empower them.
