Beaumont Blast 1/31/16

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS START THIS WEEK -  OPENINGS STILL AVAILABLE
The After School Clubs sponsored by the HSA will begin this week from February 1st for 8 weeks from 3:30 - 4:30pm, for the Animal Club, Board Games Club, Coding Club, Lego Club, Travel Club, and Yoga Club. Reading Olympics for 4th Graders will begin on Wednesday, February 10. We still have openings available, so please fill out the last page of the Registration Form and submit it with your payment to the School Office by Wednesday, February 3.

TRAVEL CLUB - NOW OPEN TO FIRST GRADERS
Do you have a child who dreams of exploring the world and wants to learn more about different countries and people? The NEW Travel Club lead by Miss Ashley Fisher (2nd Grade Teacher) will whisk your child's imagination to far away places.

Pick up is at the Carpool Circle (unless given another location). Note: the teachers and school have a master list of all the students participating so parents of Grades 2 - 4 students do NOT need to write a note for their children to attend an After School Club; however, please write a note for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students. Do not forget to pack an extra snack.

FEBRUARY 17, WEDNESDAY, 3:30 - 4:30pm (Gr 3 - 4)

GOT SOCKS??? We know you need 'em with this weather! We also know the snow threw all of us for a loop, and your flyer about the Ronald McDonald House Fundraisers at school may have gotten lost in the shuffle. So here is the flyer again in case your kiddo(s) just really want a pair of red and white socks that will keep their tootsies warm while ALSO helping families at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House. If you have a child in Grades K - 2 who plans to attend on Wednesday, February 10, from 3:30 - 4:30pm, please remember to send your flyer and donation in by this Wednesday, February 3. Mrs. Melissa McConaghy (Physical Education Teacher) has a fun afternoon of games planned! Thank you for your support. For Community Service Contacts, please refer to the contact details below Terracycling.

VALENTINE'S DAY PARTIES - FEBRUARY 12, FRIDAY
Valentine’s Day Parties are approaching. Please be aware of this important reminder: Classroom Parties are for Beaumont students ONLY. We ask that scheduled parent volunteers make other arrangements for younger siblings. This practice ensures appropriate attention to the students and activities in the classroom. Thank you for understanding.

PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCE SCHEDULING
IS NOW ONLINE

Following a pilot at the elementary level this past fall, all five T/E elementary schools will now provide online scheduling for parent-teacher conferences this February (24 - 26). View sample letter and an example of the online form. On February 3, a personalized letter will be sent to each parent with an individual username and password. Please look for your individual letter. Parents will sign up for conferences within the provided timeslots on the online form. The online system opens on Monday, February 8 and closes on Sunday, February 21. The main office will be able to assist you with any questions that you have and will help anyone who does not have internet access. There are directions for scheduling siblings. Please also know that conferences continue to be 20 minutes with 5 minutes added for transition time. Thank you for your support of the new system, and we hope the online features will add convenience to this process.

BOARD GAMES NEEDED FOR INDOOR RECESS
Cleaning out your closets or game rooms? Interested in making a fun and practical donation to your child’s class? The Beaumont Classroom Teachers are looking for any new or used (good condition) board games to be donated for indoor recess times. Please check with your child’s classroom teacher if you have any questions about your donation. Your child’s teacher will have some good ideas and suggestions for games that the students would enjoy! Thank you for your support.

BES COMMUNITY SERVICE:
• PHILLY LOVE WALL OF GOOD DEEDS AND KINDNESS
From January 18 - February 14, Beaumont students have an opportunity to show just how much love they can spread through good deeds, acts of kindness and service. The school lobby will boast the "Philly Love Wall", where students can put up hearts with their names and good deeds over the course of the month. As parents, we can show some Philly Love by sending in any extra unopened school supplies you may have in the house, which will be donated to Philadelphia schools. Thank you for your donations.

• TERRACYCLING
Hello Beaumont Terracyclers! From October - December 2015, we collected 122 pieces of oral care waste and 818 juice pouches and saved them from going into landfills. Keep up the great work, helping the environment and helping Beaumont. We will continue to collect oral care waste and juice pouches until May 2016.

WHOLE FOODS DONATES 5¢ FOR EVERY REUSABLE BAG TO T&E CARE
Tredyffrin & Easttown Care is a local non-profit that supports families in our own neighborhoods who might be struggling due to an emergency or financial situation. Whole Foods in Devon has selected T&E Care to be one of their recipients for the Nickels for Nonprofits Program from January 18 - April 17. This program allows customers to donate their 5¢ bag refund to local nonprofit organizations instead of receiving it themselves. If you shop at Whole Foods, and you bring your own bags, then please be sure to mention T&E Care when you check out. If you don't say anything, then T&E Care won't get your nickel! A year ago when T&E Care was part of this program, they received almost $1000 from Whole Foods - so the nickels really do add up. Thanks to you and Whole Foods for supporting their fundraising efforts.

ORDER YOUR 2015 - 2016 YEARBOOK
It's priceless to look back and see how much your child has grown from Kindergarten to 4th Grade at Beaumont by purchasing a Yearbook each year. This year's Yearbook is the same price at $22.00, but we are also offering several packages and options to choose from including: a Personalized Cover with your child's photo and name, a Zoom Current Events Insert (so you remember what was happening in 2015 - 2016), and Stickys (stickers for decorating).
