Beaumont Blast 1/8/17

Some fun Beaumont traditions are coming up! See below for more information...

PIZZA BINGO - Friday, January 20, 2017
Let’s Bingo! Join us for Pizza Bingo on Friday, January 20, 2017 (click here for the registration flyer).  Our fantastic bingo callers are Mr. Parrotta for the first seating and Mrs. McConaghy for the second seating.  Every child is guaranteed one prize, and sign up sheets are due on 1/20!  Speaking of prizes, we are collecting new prizes (crafts, sports balls, games, toys) in the collection bin in the front lobby through 1/20.  This is a great way to get rid of unwanted gifts you have received this past month!  We also need many parent volunteers for the event and middle school students to check bingo cards.  Click  to sign up or contact Angie Polizzi at

PARENT SOCIAL - Friday, February 3, 7pm - 10 pm
Time to book your sitter because the Parent Social on February 3 is quickly approaching! Check those backpacks, invitations will be going out next week in backpacks! The night promises to be a casual Super Bowl themed fun event with some of our traditional Beaumont auction items, parent sponsored parties, and some fun raffles.  Please join us and get those response cards in ASAP - the event is less than a month away!

And back by popular demand, the Wine Raffle returns! The committee will be starting to collect wine bottle donations starting on January 9. If you would like to donate a bottle (or two), please contact Cara Wiechecki ( or Courtney O'Brien ( The drop off locations will be at either of their homes. Please drop them a quick note to see where to drop the bottles. In past years, we have been able to give away a fine selection of bottles to three couples. We hope to get the same amount this year. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event and we will also offer a chance to pre-purchase tickets as the Parent Social approaches.

FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE - Saturday, February 11, 6-8:30p
Break out the fancy clothes and dancing shoes! The Father-Daughter Dance will be February 11, 2017 from 6 to 8:30p.

Fourth grade parents are invited to the Cafeteria on Friday, January 13, from 1:45 - 2:30p for the P.A.L. Project Kickoff Meeting. Teachers will share details and steps to completing the project, as well as give some tips and helpful hints for students. Parents who have never had a 4th Grader at Beaumont before are especially encouraged to attend.

During this holiday season, the Beaumont community showed its incredible generosity. Please see below for updates from the MASH food drive and the Royer-Greaves School gift card collection.
MASH Food Drive - Beaumont Elementary is proud to announce that the MASH Food Drive was a tremendous success. Our goal was to collect 500 pounds of food for children and families in need but our students far exceeded that goal. The Food Drive collection totaled an amazing 1,111 pounds. We are extremely proud of our students, who embraced this opportunity to serve others, and worked selflessly to achieve their goal. Great work, Beaumont!
Royer-Greaves School for the Blind - The 3rd, and 4th grade Chorus performed a beautiful holiday concert with the Royer - Greaves School for the Blind. Because of your kind generosity, Beaumont was able to give 30 gift cards to the Royer Greaves students. Thank you to the students and families for making the holidays brighter for these very special individuals.

In keeping with the past practice of airing the historically significant event of inaugurating a new President of the United States, all elementary students in the T/E School District will have the opportunity to watch this month’s presidential inauguration ceremony. Core teachers will show their students the recorded C-SPAN footage of this historic event on the afternoon of January 20, 2017.  Teachers of AM Kindergarten students will show the swearing-in ceremony on the morning of January 23, 2017.
If you have any questions, please call Dr. Demming at 610-240-1401. Thank you.

Thinking about summer break and what to do with the kids? Devon Elementary will be running the annual Mainline Camp Fair at Conestoga High School, 200 Irish Rd, Berwyn, on January 25 from 5:30-8:30p. Representatives from approximately 100 camps will be there to discuss their programs. See attached flyer for more information.

Get ready for the Harlem Wizards, one night only on March 31, 2017. You won't want to miss this fun night of trick hoops and alley-oops! This exciting community event raises money for FLITE funded programs in our school district. Online ticket sales begin on February 15 at 10a. Click here for more information.

1. Creative Volunteers Needed -
We are looking for one volunteer from each grade. This volunteer will work with individual classes in each grade to create a themed art project that will be auctioned off at the Parent Social on February 3.  This should only take one afternoon of your time to go into the classrooms to "paint" your canvas which we will supply. If you are interested, please contact Erin Muhly or Ann McCarthy.

2. Book Fair - We need two additional book fair chairs for the 2017-2018 school year. Please consider joining this fun group to lead the two 📚 book fairs sponsored by the HSA. Both Mary Hashemi and Renee DelViscio will be leaving Beaumont at the end of the school year and will help with the transition.

3. Cultural Arts - For the 2017-2018 school year, we need two volunteers to work together to plan all school assemblies. These people will coordinate schedules, contracts and assembly day details with lead teachers and staff at Beaumont as well as with the assembly providers. Chairs will also attend periodic Delta meetings at Easttown Library. This is a fun and rewarding job that gives chairs an opportunity to bring assemblies into our school and see firsthand the children's enthusiasm and excitement about being exposed to different cultural and art related experiences. Current chairs Alicia Asselta and Lindsey Weber.
