"Super-Insulated House" reel,
copyright Hope Hoffman 2005

While living in an un-insulated Quonset hut in Bowdoinham, I wrote this speedy, note-y tune to stay warm -- it's very active to play and energizing to dance to!

Perhaps the excitement of a fantasy about a very well-insulated house contributed to the happiness of the tune.

The melody lends itself easily to harmony parts.

"Super-Insulated House" is recorded live at a contra dance on the new CD "FIDDLEDANCEMUSIC: Field Recordings in Maine 2006-2008." This album is available online as single-track downloads and mail-order, and at Maine retailers.

For sheet music, see the image file below, or at www.hopehoffman.org's

Thanks for being part of this Tune-of-the-Month mailing list, sending you sheet music, chords, & audio for my original fiddle compositions. These newly composed Maine dance tunes are of course flexible as to the choices of chords and variations, but the audio samples along with notation can give you a starting point for making each tune your own.
