An Encouraging Word...

Proper preparation and good communication are essential to any endeavor.  A couple on a safari were going through Africa when a lion leaped out, attacking the husband.  As the lion was about to put the man’s head in his mouth, the victim yelled to his wife, “Shoot!  Shoot!”
The wife called back, “I can’t.  I’m out of film!”
Inadequate preparation and poor communication can be disastrous, so let me be as clear as I can.  With less than a month before the Africa Team leaves for Sierra Leone we want you to know about the needs of the A-Team before we take off for Africa.
We are pleased to report that through the faithfulness of friends, family and church family, God has supplied the finances we need for our trip.  But we continue to have one pressing need.  We desperately need your prayer support.  We cannot do anything of any lasting spiritual value without God’s enabling.
Prayer is essential to the success of our trip.  That is why, in the next few weeks, you’ll here different people reminding you to hold up the A-Team in your prayers.  Pray that each member of the team will find time to finish preparing for the ministry assignments we each have been given.  Ask God for continued unity among A-Team members.  Pray that our visit will encourage Michael and Georgiana Turay and benefit their ministry.  Ask that God would take our meager efforts and empower them by His Spirit.  Finally, as you think of us, ask for God’s protection physically and spiritually.
Fortunately, for those of us traveling to Sierra Leone, we don’t expect to encounter any hungry lions.  But the Scripture tells us that we have an adversary who prowls around like a roaring lion seeking those he may devour.  So, as we continue to prepare for Sierra Leone, we ask that you continue to hold us up in prayer.
