Tigé Introduces Industry’s First Fully Functional Touch Screen Control System
Introducing a dramatic breakthrough in multi–sport boat technology and user convenience, Tigé Boats today unveiled the advanced TigéTouch interactive operating system, the world’s first fully–functional touch–screen control designed specifically for inboard watersport boats.
Available on all 2010 Tigé RZ and Vé models, TigéTouch seamlessly integrates the control of all operating systems, watersports performance settings and engine monitoring functions into a single user–friendly 6.5" full color multimedia touch screen display. TigéTouch is the inboard industry’s first fully–functional touch–screen system.
The innovative system uses proprietary Tigé software designed to simplify use, maximize reliability and allow a wide range of user customization and flexibility. Tigé and Medallion Instrumentation Systems designed the sophisticated software and technology to meet the specific needs of today’s boating and watersports enthusiasts. Intuitive, easy–to–navigate screens and menus control and monitor multiple functions and settings with the touch of a finger.
In addition to normal engine and speed control functions, TigéTouch allows one touch creation of athlete presets, complete ballast system management and monitoring plus audio system control with full iPod interface functionality.
“There is no question that our TigéTouch system will dramatically enhance the boating and watersports experience,” said Tigé CEO Charlie Pigeon. “While most systems require a big manual and a steep learning curve, TigéTouch is extremely easy to learn and lots of fun to use. That makes everything you do on the water more enjoyable.”
Pigeon said that today’s diverse watersport activities more than ever require real–world versatility from boats and their operating systems.
“From surfing to wakeboarding to skiing…everyone on the boat wants to do something different with different setups and boat configurations. TigéTouch is a huge advancement in simplifying this process and dramatically enhancing the convenience and versatility of our boats.”
Key Tigé Touch features include:
- Simple, intuitive interface that is easy to learn and provides rapid, one–touch navigation between all control screens and functions.
- Touch control on–screen graphic monitoring of ballast status and TAPS2 position.
- One–touch creation of up to 20 athlete custom profiles including riding speed, ballast settings and TAPS2 positioning. Profiles can be created on the fly while athlete is riding by touching “Save as Profile” selection.
- Frequently used functions such as audio controls or depth readouts are present on most screens.
