MICHAEL JAMES, THOM CLARK AND GRANT STESKAL
CO-HOST THIS WEEKS'S LIVE FROM THE HEARTLAND

NATE HERMAN

• THE WHITMAN PROJECT—WFMT

Our old pal Nate is Co-founder and singer/songwriter for the iconic, iconoclastic and cult-status Chicago band Wilderness Road; he is a veteran Saturday Night Live staff writer, and a Second City cast member and director.  He is currently the Co-producer, with Chicago musician/composer Elliott Delman, of The Whitman Project on WFMT.

REGINALD TORIAN SR.

• ACTOR, MUSICIAN, MINISTER

Reginald Torian became the lead singer of the Impressions following the passing of the legendary Curtis Mayfield.  Reginald played Curtis Mayfield in the Black Ensemble Theater’s The Story of Curtis Mayfield. We’ll hear some stories and songs and learn about a tribute going on to an early black radio radio station.

TIRTZA EVEN
• SCHOOL OF THE ART INSTITUTE
Tirtza Evan is the Director  of the new film Natural Life that looks at youth sentenced as adults. She purposely profiles whites, blacks, and latinos, not just the stereotypical black male population as this is a universal issue. The film is timely as judges on the federal level now have the flexibility to give life sentences or not. Meanwhile states are individually determining that flexibility. It also questions if those given life sentences previously will be re-sentenced.  Her film will is being shown at the Siskle Film Center  April 18, 21, and 23.
