  • What are you selling? How do you determine the value proposition that works for ads and sponsorships of your publication?
  • And more specifically: How do you set rates?

IMPACT: "Responding to reporting by Dan Telvock of Investigative Post, Buffalo made two major moves this week to address lead hazards in the city.

"On Tuesday, the Common Council approved legislation that puts the onus on many landlords to remove lead paint from their rental properties. On Wednesday, Mayor Byron Brown announced steps to improve the program that tests drinking water for lead and imposed much stricter standards on what qualifies as safe levels of lead contaminants. Stories were co-produced with our partners at WGRZ."

The Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma invites INN journalists in the Midwest to apply for a two-day reporting institute February 10-11, 2017, in Chicago to improve news coverage of guns and gun violence. Institute participants will be eligible for reporting fellowships (up to $12,000) in 2017. The deadline to apply is Nov. 17.
