Lunch & Learn: The Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) Model of Integrated Care

Now Offering CE for Social Workers and CME

We have exciting news. Starting with next week’s lunch and learn session on March 22, Integrated Care DC, though our partners at Health Management Associates (HMA), will begin offering social work continuing education credits.

Health Management Associates, #1780, is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. Health Management Associates maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period: 09/22/2021 – 09/22/2022. To earn CE credit, social workers must log in at the scheduled time, attend the entire course and complete an online course evaluation.

It’s National Social Work Month!

Integrated Care DC is celebrating this year’s National Social Work Month with the theme “The Time is Right for Social Work” to highlight how social workers have enriched our society for more than a century.

Social workers touch millions of lives each day through their work in hospitals, mental health centers, schools, social service agencies, community centers and in politics. The important services they provide are needed now more than ever as our nation addresses economic inequality, systemic racism, the need for improved health and mental health care, Covid-19 and other issues. Funding Opportunities

Services Grant Program for Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women
Using a holistic approach, grant funds also support required activities for minor children and partners of the women, and other extended family members of the women and children, as requested by the women. Fundamental to this program is ensuring access to services for low-income women, including providing these services in locations accessible to low-income women.

Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Expansion Grants
The CCBHC Expansion grant program must provide access to services including 24/7 crisis intervention services for individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) or substance use disorders (SUD), including opioid use disorders; children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance (SED); and individuals with co-occurring mental and substance disorders (COD).

Featured Resource | Revenue

The Integrated Care DC survey results showed that practices want more resources on ways to maximize revenue. This month, we feature Revenue Cycle Foundations sessions provided by DHCF to help DC Medicaid Behavioral Health practices prepare to transition to participating in the managed care contract. The Revenue Cycle Foundations sessions will enhance DC Medicaid Behavioral Health practices, knowledge, and capabilities to bill more efficiently, get paid faster, and resolve payment issues.
