Think Unconditionally - Art Exhibition By Dawn Tree
Washington, D.C., Feb. 21, 2016—Think Unconditionally art exhibition will be the rebirth of abstract artist Dawn Tree. After living in Ghana, partaking in other cultures and learning variant ways of communicating with limited technology, Tree says she sees her steps in a whole new light. This art exhibition will walk you through specific visuals from both Washington, DC & Baltimore, MD and emotions associated with the current heightened oppressive conditions spawned by elements both seen and unseen.

Tree’s work displays a combustion of color, working primarily on wood she combines various media of materials from aerosol, latex acrylic, water-based acrylic, sticks and other found objects.  This new series has a focus on graphic art as well, combining images abstractly to create visible messages.

During the dog days of summer last year, Tree made the financially responsible decision to move to Baltimore from DC and two days later the Freddy Gray Riots broke out. Being new to the city and living just blocks away from the occurrence was unreal she says. She decided to put her angst and hope for a better community into her artwork.

In 2006, Dawn Tree sold her first pieces at the University of Oklahoma's student art gallery (as Dawn J.) while obtaining a journalism degree. Marketing relocated her to the D.C. area in 2008 and a year in she began channeling her emotions, at which point she also launched her web design and graphics business, Underground Tree Projects. Tree began with a wall on U Street in a store called Dekka, which is now closed. She's participated in a market on Rhode Island THE STATE OR THE STREET, Baltimore's Artdromeda, DC's First on 1st Annual Art and Music Walk, Chief Ike’s Solo exhibition, Solo feature at Busboys & Poets in 2014 and more.
