Plant Connection Unveils Largest Living Wall in Maryland
A more than two thousand square-foot exterior G-O2 Living Wall was recently installed on the building façade of One East Pratt Street in Baltimore, making it the largest living wall in Maryland.

PNC Baltimore, 2012
The new living wall in Baltimore will help the surrounding environment in the popular Inner Harbor region by reducing pollution and smog, mitigating Urban Heat Island Effect, and increasing biodiversity in the downtown area.
The wall also helps protect and prolong the lifespan of the building and increase the morale and productivity of the employees working there who now gaze out of their office windows at a stunning vertical garden made of living plants.

PNC Baltimore, 2012
Building owners hope that the living artwork will attract more businesses to the revitalized downtown corridor on Pratt Street, as well as curious tourists walking by on their way to the attractions in the Inner Harbor.
Plant Connection's G-O2 Living Wall has some important features that will help advance the success of living architecture, including the use of a unique, cutting edge, remote monitoring system. Individual sensors in the wall measure and collect important data about the green wall 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This data is used to maximize water efficiency and the health of the plants growing in the wall.

PNC Baltimore, 2012
This technology was first installed in another very large iconic living wall in Pittsburgh during a complete overhaul in May of 2012 that included an upgraded G-O2 Living Wall system, irrigation system, and state-of-the-art remote monitoring sensors provided by Plant Connection, Inc. The new G-O2 system allows for 100% organic management of the green wall, providing the client with a more sustainable and environmentally sound option for maintaining the wall.

PNC Pittsburgh, 2012
This valuable data recorded in two of the largest exterior living walls in the United States will be studied and used to help inform and further advance the greater green wall industry as a whole.

The G-O2 living wall, provided by Plant Connection, Inc., is made up of over 500 individual modular planting trays that are home to over 12,000 hardy groundcover perennial plants.
