Casa B Restaurant Grows Tropical
Plant Connection has been fortunate to incorporate G-O2™ Living Walls at three restaurants within New England in the last year. We are excited to announce that a fourth wall was recently installed at a new restaurant just outside of Boston!

Located in Somerville’s Union Square, Casa B’s tapas and pinchos restaurant concept “embraces the romanticism, warmth and spice of Latin-America.” Its décor creates a very intimate and comfortable atmosphere of being in someone’s living room, while the added green wall sets it apart from other restaurants with the beautiful dining ambiance.

When designing the layout of Casa B, owners Angelina Jockovich and Alberto Cabre wanted to figure out a way to make the subterranean dining space of the restaurant not feel like a basement.
Angelina says, "We wanted the space to feel like home, especially in a tropical sense since I am Columbian and Alberto is Puerto Rican." Alberto says, "At first we were just going to have some plants down there, but when we heard about Recover Green Roofs & Green Walls and saw images from their portfolio, we knew this would be the perfect solution."

Measuring 16’ long, diners at this fine restaurant have a stunning and inviting atmosphere surrounding them of lush low-light tropicals. Recover Green Roofs installed the living wall and provides weekly maintenance. Recover Green Roofs is a design/build firm specializing in municipal, residential, commercial green roofs, green walls, and food roofs. The company is based out of Somerville, MA and was co-founded by Mark Winterer and Brendan Shea in 2009. To learn more, visit www.recovergreenroofs.com.

Cornell University Conducts
Green Wall Study
G-O2™ has committed a certain percentage of our sales to the research, development, and education of living wall and green roof technology, in order to further understand the crucial part it will play in the sustainability of our cities in the 21st Century.

Currently, Cornell University in Ithaca, New York is conducting a root hardiness study for exterior Living Walls. Plant Connection is very grateful for the opportunity and looks forward to the findings!
