It has been far too long since we have sent out a newsletter. Of course so many of you are in contact through Facebook or directly, but we would like to update you on our activities and give you some specific dates to save!
2017 - as November approaches, it is fun to reflect upon the last year. As always it started with the Winter Rockies. It was a snowy, cold winter and therefore perfect for exploring Banff and Jasper. Heavy snowfalls resulted in several large detours, but that really is part of the fun.
Other trips included a fabulous, comprehensive tour of Chile and Easter Island! Japan / Korea (watch for a tour April 2019), Florida & the Keys, Cuba, The new ' 6 States of New England,’ several excellent Canada / US Rockies trips (including Yellowstone), the West Coast, the Canadian Rockies, New England & Canada …
Now it is time to return to South America. Peru and then Chile. I am flying to Peru as this is being written.
The coming year is quickly taking shape. There are five dates established for Winter Rockies - December 6, Jan 10, Jan 17, Jan 24 & Feb. 17. We will be putting links up on the website for these trips.
We are also leading a custom Cuba trip (with a distinct art focus), Feb.3 - 9. This trip is planned for Americans through a Cuban Art Gallery and space is extremely limited. Please write to me ASAP if interested.
We are just evaluating a Costa Rica / Nicaragua trip for late Feb-early March.
We are planning a family travel / study trip to South America for about 7 weeks between March and early May. Finn is already counting the days - we are debating between Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador, but also plan to travel through Colombia!
There will be many dates posted on our website for May - September tours. Not all will have space, but we will post ASAP.
October Ireland / Scotland. This is taking a little longer to finalize than planned, but we plan 100% to run a trip to the Emerald Isle likely mid-October. Several people are waiting for specific details. We will cap the group at 35.
November Peru & Colombia
We love to return to Peru each year and many people come back. For the 2018 trip we are planning to visit the Cusco area (as always), but are looking into a trip to the Amazon! Stay tuned.
Colombia! It is about time. We have written extensively about this beautiful country and now that peace has really arrived, it is high time to discover Colombia. This will be an excellent trip.
Many of you who know my family personally are aware that my father has become gripped with dementia and alzheimer’s. He is now in a locked facility. His condition may affect some of our travel plans in the coming year. My dad was an explorer, composer and artist. He made good travel and lifestyle choices in his senior years and as twilight descends on his journey, we are thankful for the time with him and reminded that no-one lies on the deathbed thinking: “I should have worked more.”
Please keep your loved ones close.
