1. Mt Crawford Goldfields - enter NOW!!
Don’t miss out on Mt Crawford Goldfields Long Distance Orienteer Of The Year event Sun August 4thhttps://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/7850 with bonus Junior Arrows catering.
 
It’s a great opportunity to (re)experience the best bits of last year’s Aust Long Championships map, including Tower Hill plus everyone’s favourite Rocky Paddock. This may be your last opportunity to run around the mature pines before they are felled! Championship-standard courses planned by Frank Tomas for Wallaringa Orienteers. Note that there are only four Enter On The Day courses, so pre-enter and pay online before Wed July 31st to run your preferred age class/course and guarantee yourself a waterproof map. The weather should be fine though…

2. Midweek Training Half Day Para Wirra Southwest 7 August 2019
The next Midweek Orienteering Half Day will be in the southwest part of the Para Wirra Conservation Park on Wednesday 7 August 2019.

There will be one course of Hard orienteering standard of 3.4 km in length with 140 m climb. The terrain is steep in parts but the vegetation is mainly open forest.

Starts and the car park will be on the western side of The Lake. Starts will be from 10.00 am until 11.30 am which is the norm for 2019 with course closure of 1.00 pm.

The event fee includes the park entry fee so do not pay the latter at the Main Gate as it cannot be refunded.

3. OSA Survey on the Twilight and Sprint Series  Format
 
OSA is inviting all interested orienteers to provide feedback on the Twilight and Sprint Series, with the focus on the Twilight Series.  The link to the survey is the quick links at the top of the home page on the OSA web site at http://sa.orienteering.asn.au.
 
The survey is open until Sunday evening 11th August.

4. New Permanent Courses in South Parklands

New permanent orienteering courses have just been opened at Blue Gum Park (P20)/Kurangga. The start/finish is just to the west of Tree Climb on the north side of Greenhill Road. Thanks to Adrian Uppill for all his work in establishing these courses.

5. Nominations are now open for the 2019 Australia / New Zealand Challenge team.
 
Here’s your chance to represent Australia in the sport you love. 
 
The Australia / New Zealand Challenge will be run in conjunction with all four disciplines (sprint, relay, long, middle) of the Oceania Championships from 28 Sep to 6 Oct 2019.
Australia and New Zealand  will contest all classes from M/W16 up to and including M/W70 except M35, W35, M65 and W65.
To be eligible for team selection, nominations are required in Eventor by 7 Sep 2019 at: https://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/8739
For non-elite A/NZ Challenge classes, selection will be based on performances in the last two national carnivals over all disciplines (sprint/middle/long and relay).
For elite classes, Bushrangers selection criteria will apply, with the top 3 of those selected for the A/NZ Challenge. 
Nominate now to be selected to represent Australia!

6. AUS-NZL MTBO Challenge - nominations open
Nominations are now open for this year’s challenge team.
 
The challenge will be run in conjunction with the Australian MTBO Championships at Maryborough, VIC from 25-27th October.
NZOF have nominated W21, W40, W60, M21, M40, M50, M60 & M70 as the classes they wish to contest.
