From Port Royal Speedway:
Please keep WRT Speedwerx Professional Motorsports Photography team member and brother Brian Rhoad in your thoughts and prayers. Brian returned from Port Royal Saturday night to find his home engulfed in flames. Brian and his wife Betty are safe, but their home and all of their belongings are a total loss.
Efforts are underway to help Brian and Betty get back on their feet.

I'll Be Fine. Give Me My Helmet Back.
Once upon a time, back in his years racing go-karts, one member of #TeamA2D had a pre-race...well...ritual of sorts. It wasn't necessarily intentional or by design, but it happened with consistent reliability before each big race.
Our mystery driver's passion for the sport and desire to succeed were so great, his nerves would get the best of him, and just before strapping in, "it" would happen. What was "it"? Well, he would find a secluded spot and "lose his lunch".
Understandable I suppose and also manageable it seemed. That is, until one day when the timing wasn't quite right. As he sat on the starting grid strapped into his kart, helmet on, with his father standing nearby waiting to fire the engine, he recognized the feeling.
No. It couldn't be. But it was, and it was too late. He tugged on his father's pantleg and beckoned assistance. A few minutes later the helmet had been removed, cleaned inside and returned to the driver in time to take the green.
Not only did he manage to survive and finish the race with what was likely a....well....unpleasant aroma quite literally in his face, he won. Now that's a wheelman.
