Webinar ‘Medico-Legal Implications of Digitalization in Healthcare’

BETTEReHEALTH partner, the Ghana Health Service, is presenting a webinar on July 7th on the topic of “Medico-Legal Implications of Digitalization in Healthcare”.

Healthcare institutions and practitioners have leveraged technology and harnessed the enormous benefits it offers in the digital transformation of healthcare.

Digital health systems and applications comprising of artificial intelligence, embedded digital biomedical devices, medical mobile apps, electronic health records, telemedicine, logistics and supply chain, social media, internet connectivity, big data analytics tools, cloud computing and smart medical wearable devices have been deployed by healthcare providers.

These digital health systems and other patient centric applications support decision making on providing quality care, increasing access to clinical services, securing the privacy and integrity of health data, and provide a resilient and robust platform for collaboration among clinicians.

The digitalization of healthcare generates “digital health footprints” which need to be protected because of the potential patient safety risks and medico-legal implications. The National IT Agency (NITA) in Ghana, as part of its awareness creation of digitalization in the health sector, presents a webinar on “Medico-Legal Implications of Digitalization in Healthcare” on the 7th July 2022 from 10am-12noon.

The speakers have over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry as well as expertise in Contract Management, IT Governance, IT Law, Medical Practice, Cybersecurity, Health IT, IT Auditing and Digital Health protocols and best practices.
