Happy Friday, MPSEOC Membership!

As another school year comes to a close, we want to specially thank each of you for your good work and wonderful service to education!  We feel lucky to be able to team with you in helping students together. 

Below are a few important reminders and exciting updates we wanted to share with you as we approach the start of summer.  However, we are always seeking your feedback to help our organization grow strong into the future.  Please share your thoughts on how we may better work with you and your teams, as well as, any new, innovative ideas you might have for us to make 2016 the best year yet.

Exciting News!    |  MPSEOC Vista Member

For the first time, MPSEOC has been accepted for the VISTA / AmeriCorps program!  We are so excited to announce this new opportunity, growth, and service for our organization to expand in innovative ways. This position will offer us a full-time Vista / AmeriCorps team member to help us. We are currently in the process of recruiting this new member of our team.  We would appreciate your help with recruitment for this position and ideas you may have.  Please share this information in any way you are able.  Thank you for your team efforts!

Position Details:  A reminder that the VISTA term is July 25th, 2016 – July 24th, 2017. Some talking points when discussing a VISTA’s service to potential applicants:

o   AmeriCorps VISTA is the anti-poverty branch of the national service tree.

o   VISTA is specifically designed to build capacity for communities to address poverty problems.

o   VISTA members serve full-time for a period of one year.

o   VISTA benefits: $449.08 bi-weekly (pre-tax) living allowance, $550 settling-in allowance (if moving 50 miles or more), 34 cents/mile relocation allowance (if moving 50 miles or more), Education Award of $5,731 or cash stipend $1,500 upon successful completion of a term of service, health benefits, optional life insurance and optional childcare.

o   VISTAs receive professional development opportunities throughout their service.

You’ll still have the dedicated support and assistance provided by our staff in your community. In addition, you’ll continue to benefit from a cadre of college access professionals in our Helena headquarters continuously developing, evaluating, and improving upon the investments made by our organization in the future success of Montana students."

|  A very special congratulations to all who were nominated, and thank you to those of you who have chosen to apply by the end of today. 
|  We will be reaching out to each of the institutions to start the official voting process on June 13th.  Please keep an eye out for more information about this voting process, but feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. 

June 3, 2016  | Deadline for Nominations to accept and apply.
June 13, 2016 – July 4, 2016   |   Voting Open – 1 vote from each of the 25 MPSEOC Member Institutions.
August 4-5, 2016  |  MPSEOC Summer Conference  |  Announce New Board Members.
