Member Business Hightlight: Winterton Automotive
"When you have five boys, there is nothing better to own than a tow truck."
Dale Winterton has been passionate about cars for as long as he can remember. He loved buying and selling cars and learned quickly how to paint and repair them. In 1999, Dale started working nights at Brett's Towing. In 2000, he decided to start his own towing business and acquired his first truck.
Dale's son Andrew joined him in the business in 2002. Today, the father and son team operate Winterton Automotive and AW Towing. There isn't a towing job too big for them to handle. They can tow anything from semi-trucks and trailers to fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers.
He would advise anyone going into business for themselves to pay the price in research before diving into any business. He advises them to make sure the niche they are pursuing is not overcrowded and choose a business that will not limit opportunities for success.
Dale's father helped him get started at Weber State Credit Union when he was just eight years old. "Weber State Credit Union has been very easy to work with. The tellers know my name and I have never had a problem getting a loan," Winterton said.
When you open a new auto loan now through May 31, 2014, you'll receive 5,000 bonus Scorecard points. These points can be redeemed for merchandise or travel.
