Reliance Infrastructure-owned power discoms in Delhi today announced they have signed an agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for sourcing 100 Megawatt power each at a rate of Rs 2.84 per unit for the next 25 years.
Leh and Kargil districts of the Ladakh region will soon have solar power projects under the state-run Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), officials said Thursday. As a part of its ambitious plan to build 23 GW solar power projects in Ladakh, SECI Wednesday issued tenders for construction of 7.5 GW solar power projects in the first phase, they added.
Wind developers who won projects in Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 2000 mw auction in February, but have not been able to achieve financial closure yet, are likely to get a breather, with SECI extending the last date for closure by another two months. SECI had earlier set the deadline for January 3, after which it had threatened to start invoking the bank guarantees the developers have given.
A group of 300 students at the Lovely Professional University (LPU) along with the faculty have developed a solar-powered driverless smart bus which was displayed at the 106th edition of the Indian Science Congress (ISC).
The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Jalandhar on Thursday (January 3).
The Delhi Vidhan Sabha complex in north Delhi’s Civil Lines turned green on Monday with the installation of a 100kw solar power plant.
According to officials, the solar photo voltaic plant, installed at a cost of Rs 7.35 lakh, will take care of 25% of the Delhi Legislative Assembly building’s peak power demand and will help save Rs10 lakh annually on account of the power bill.
